is possible to go to work, school and children’s day-care centre from
the shelter. The residents of the shelter are offered assistance with
routine tasks and advice on when to use social and health care services
as well as legal services. The main function of the shelter is to
provide refuge for women and children who have become victims of
domestic violence − a safe place where they can go through the
changes in their lives that are required for ending the domestic
violence. Accommodation issues, divorce proceedings, child custody and
maintenance matters, reports of offences, police interviews and
questions of livelihood are the most common matters taken care of during
the stay at the shelter.
